THE FIRST INDUCTION CEREMONY OF THE INSTITUTEThe first induction ceremony of the Institute was held on 12th August, 2006 at Guest Houses/Conferences Centre of the University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba. The occasion was divided into two sessions. The first of it was the training of the inductees while the second part was the induction itself where certificate were issued to new members. The President of the Institute; Prof. Akingbade Funsho Joseph traced the evolution of OR to World War exigencies that compelled enlisting the contribution of active scientist in fighting the war fundamentally. According to him, the special activity of OR is the attack of science on Operational problems existing in any endeavour, civilian or even in self management.
